Roland V-Drums

V-Drums and the TD modules — mesh heads, digital sensing and the kits that made electronic drums playable.

V-Drums is the range that made electronic kits feel like drums. Roland's mesh heads gave players real rebound and a head you can actually tune, and the TD modules behind them turn a set of pads into anything from a brushed jazz kit to a stadium rock rig. The line runs from the entry-level TD-07 up to the flagship TD-50 with its digital snare and ride.

We have full guides to both ends of it below — the TD-07KV for a first kit, the TD-50X for the top of the range — plus the V-Drums documented in the Rig Vault, including the pads in Neil Peart's setup. Every item links through to who plays it and where to buy.
