The practice log
What gets written down gets better. Log what you practised, for how long, at what tempo and how it felt — the log keeps your streak and your weekly totals, so the honest picture is always one glance away.

How to get the most from it
- Log every session, even the short ones — ten honest minutes on a pad counts. The streak is the habit, and the habit is the progress.
- Write down the tempo — "single paradiddle at 92" today beats "paradiddles again" forever. Next session, you know exactly where to pick up — and the tempo trainer knows where to climb from.
- Be honest in the feel rating — a run of 😫 days on the same exercise is the log telling you to slow the tempo down, not push harder.
- Feed it good material — work through the 40 rudiments, revisit our speed guide, and steal ideas from the pros' features. Benny Greb keeps a practice journal for a reason.
