HH stands for hand hammered, and that is the whole story: each cymbal is worked by hand, so no two are identical and the sound is darker, drier and more complex than anything the machine-hammered lines produce. Think warmth and stick definition rather than volume — these are cymbals that sit in a mix instead of fighting it.
