Sabian AAX

Sabian's modern bright line — clean, precise B20 cymbals with raw bells, built for everything from pop to metal.

AAX takes the Automatic Anvil hammering of the AA line and voices it for modern music. The result is clean, precise and consistent: B20 bronze, a lot of raw bells, and a response that cuts through a dense mix without turning harsh. If you want earthier and more complex from Sabian, that is what the hand-hammered HH and HHX lines are for.

It is also the Sabian range you will meet most often on a working kit — X-plosion crashes, AAX hi-hats and thin rides turn up across the documented setups in the Rig Vault below, Chris Turner's among them. Start with the full AAX guide, then use the vault list to see who plays each model and where to buy it.
