Gojira's drummer since the band formed in 1996, alongside his brother Joe. The most restrained great drummer in heavy music — toms that carry the melody, double kick used as punctuation, and a ride cymbal chosen almost entirely for its bell. Tama Starclassic bubinga and Zildjian.
Gojira played the opening ceremony of the 2024 Games from a balcony of the Conciergerie, and won a Grammy for Best Metal Performance for it. Duplantier posted a full rundown of the kit he used, which is not a sentence anyone expected to write about an Olympic ceremony.
