ZackGrooves takes Everything Yes on the road

Here is a lovely thing: the drummer you know from three-minute comedy videos has a real band, playing real music, in real venues.

ZackGrooves — Zack Graybeal — takes Everything Yes across the US this September, with a new record on the way behind it.

The tour

The September run heads south and west: Asheville on the 11th, Atlanta on the 12th, Nashville on the 14th, Memphis on the 16th, New Orleans on the 17th and Austin on the 18th. There are festival and club dates either side of it, so check the band’s own tour page for the full list before you make plans.

If you have only ever seen Zack through a phone screen, this is the version worth catching. The videos are the shop window. The band is the shop.

Who is in the band?

Everything Yes is a jazz-fusion outfit built around Zack on drums, with Cole Sipe on bass, Reggie McNeill on keys, Sean Reeser on tenor sax and Nathan Graybeal on alto sax.

Two saxes and no guitar is an unusual front line, and it is a big part of why they sound like themselves — the horns take the parts a guitarist would normally hog, and the whole thing breathes more.

The music sits somewhere between jazz, funk, gospel and prog, with the improvisation you would expect and rather more humour than most bands in that lane allow themselves.

And a new album

Volume 1 landed in 2023, Volume 2 in 2024 and a Volume 2.5 EP in 2025. Volume 3 is next, with pre-saves already live.

Given how much of the band’s material gets road-tested before it is recorded, the September dates are a decent chance to hear some of it early.

Final thoughts

It would have been easy for Zack to stay on YouTube making sketches. Plenty of creators do, and it pays better.

Instead he built a band, wrote the music, put out three records and took it on tour. That is the harder road and by some distance the more interesting one. Go and see them.
